Pickaxes are the main durable mining tool in Mine a Mountain. The official description confirms that players upgrade the Pickaxe, while current community guides describe Power and Mine Size as the two key shop stats. The table below is a dated July 9 snapshot, not a guaranteed complete August lineup: later Boulders coverage names additional high-end tools.

Do not call this a complete list. Boulders coverage published later names Eclipse Fang, Voidreign, and The Terminus as requirements for higher boulders. Their current order, cash price, Power, and Mine Size must be read in the live game.
Buy a new Pickaxe safely
Mine and sell crystals until cash is banked, then open the current Pickaxe shop at base. Community walkthroughs place it opposite the seller, but follow the live sign and prompt. Compare the name, cash cost, Power, and Mine Size shown now. Confirm the purchase and check that the equipped tool or stats change before returning to the mountain.
If a Pickaxe does not appear, do not assume a hidden code or Robux requirement. The store may require progression or more cash, or the lineup may have changed. Read the live condition and complete another sale loop.
Read Power and Mine Size together
Community documentation describes Power as the strength applied to material and Mine Size as the area cleared per swing. Test both on a familiar layer. Higher Power should reduce the effort needed or satisfy a requirement; larger Mine Size should change the affected area. Exact behavior remains Community reported until reproduced in the current version.
A wider swing can expose more crystals than the Backpack can carry. A stronger tool can open a colder route that Warmth cannot sustain. The best Pickaxe purchase is therefore the one that removes a real mining blocker without ignoring the rest of the run.
Decide when to upgrade
Upgrade when the tool refuses a layer on a route you can otherwise survive, or when mining time is clearly the largest part of the trip. Delay the purchase when cold forces a nearly empty retreat or capacity fills before hard material appears. In those cases, Warmth or Backpack may change more.
After buying, repeat one comparable route and record time to clear the same material, bag fill speed, and cash banked. If mining improves but sales do not, find the new bottleneck before buying again.
Pickaxes connected to Boulders
One current community guide reports five Boulder tiers with required Pickaxes: Titanium Spike for Mossite, Celestial Apex for Voltite, Eclipse Fang for Gildrite, Voidreign for Rimeveil, and The Terminus for Nocturnite. Paid Pickaxe alternatives
The official Game Pass API lists Diamond Pickaxe OP at 499 Robux with product text advertising +30% Legendary Luck, +4,000 Power, and +900 Mine Size. It also lists x8 Power and INSTANT Mine as separate products. Those official descriptions establish the listing, not how every boost stacks with cash Pickaxes.
Read Gamepasses before paying. A purchased tool changes the account’s upgrade path and should be disclosed when comparing route results.
Common Pickaxe mistakes
- Treating the July 9 list as complete after later updates.
- Buying by rarity name without reading live Power, Mine Size, cost, and requirement.
- Ignoring Warmth when the new tool opens a route the account cannot survive.
- Ignoring Backpack when wider mining creates more items than the account can carry.
- Assuming a Boulder requirement from one guide is permanent.
- Using an exploit to skip progression despite the official ban warning.
