Mine a Mountain Luck Plot Guide

Use the Mine a Mountain Luck Plot by comparing placed-crystal contribution, immediate cash, swaps, mutations, and current UI evidence.

Community guides describe the Luck Plot as a base area where placed crystals improve future mining luck. The official description confirms only the separate +1 Digging Luck opportunity from liking and joining the group. Use the live Plot UI for placement, slots, and contribution; do not import exact formulas from a fan table.

Place the first crystal

Return to base with a crystal you are willing to keep out of the seller. Open the current Plot or placement prompt, choose the crystal, and confirm that it appears in a slot. Record the displayed luck state before and after. If the UI does not show a change, do not invent one.

Keep the seller and Plot decisions separate. A sold crystal cannot be placed. A placed crystal may delay cash needed for Warmth, Pickaxe, or Backpack. Make the choice before opening a confirmation panel.

Decide sell, place, or replace

Choice

Sell
Cash removes a stronger current blocker.
The Plot already has a suitable placement or the contribution is weak.
Place
The live contribution improves the ongoing luck plan.
The account can delay the immediate sale.
Replace
A secured candidate is stronger than a current slot.
Removal behavior and destination of the old crystal.

Secure the replacement before removing the old placement. Test whether the old crystal returns to inventory, remains on the Plot, or is otherwise handled by the live interface.

Use mutations cautiously

Community guides report that Frost, Fire, Poison, Thunder, and Radioactive mutations can improve Plot contribution as well as sale value. Exact multipliers are not first-party and need current testing. Compare the item’s current displayed contribution rather than assuming Thunder or Radioactive is automatically best.

If a mutation makes a crystal valuable both for cash and Plot, compare the next durable upgrade with the expected ongoing benefit. The Mutations Index records the dated community claims.

Add Runes without confusing the Plot

Another community guide says Runes are also placed in the Plot for temporary status effects. Keep Rune slots, crystal slots, timers, and luck readouts separate until the UI proves how they interact. Record the Luck Rune by name and timer rather than adding its reported percentage to every crystal multiplier.

The Runes Index covers reported effects and duplicate handling.

Pair the Plot with the official +1

Like the official experience and join the 10K Steps group for the public +1 Digging Luck opportunity, then confirm the result in the current game. This official bonus and Plot luck may be separate layers. Do not assume they share units or multiply together.

Use Digging Luck to label official, community, and paid luck sources correctly.

Protect Plot decisions around updates

Before an hourly mountain change or major update, bank unplaced important crystals and capture the current Plot state. Exact Plot persistence, slot behavior, removal, and update migration need live testing. Do not leave a valuable candidate on the mountain expecting the reset to preserve it.

Common Plot mistakes

  • Selling every mutated crystal before checking the current contribution.
  • Keeping every crystal and delaying essential progression.
  • Removing the best placement before the replacement is secured.
  • Treating community multipliers as current official values.
  • Mixing Rune timers, paid luck, and crystal contribution into one formula.
  • Ignoring Backpack capacity while transporting a Plot candidate.

Review the Plot without losing progress

Create a simple slot record before replacing anything: crystal name, mutation if shown, displayed Plot contribution, placement date, and screenshot. Then inspect the candidate while it is still safely held. Replace only when the current interface shows that the new contribution is better for the player’s goal or when a low-value slot is intentionally reserved for testing.

After placement, verify that the displayed total changed and make one controlled mining run. Keep the route, Pickaxe, and active Runes noted so the result is not credited entirely to the Plot. If the total does not change as expected, restore nothing from memory; use the screenshots and current UI to decide the next move. Recheck persistence with a disposable crystal before an update or rejoin test. This protects established value while still allowing mutations and new crystal types to be evaluated.
