Community guides currently document five Mine a Mountain crystal mutations: Frost, Fire, Poison, Thunder, and Radioactive. They report that mutations can change sale value and Plot luck, with four tied to Bombs and one tied to an administrator event. None of the exact multipliers or chances below are first-party or in-game verified by this guide.
Dated mutation index
The same community source reports a 30% chance for crystals in a relevant blast radius. The audit specifically requires this probability to be tested, so do not plan a guaranteed number of mutations from it.
Test a mutation from the live item
Use a Bomb only after reading the current shop description and cost. Keep enough Backpack capacity for the result and choose an area where crystals can be recovered safely. After the blast, inspect the item label or inventory for a mutation name. Record the base crystal, mutation, Bomb, visible sale value, Plot contribution, date, and active Runes or passes.
One successful item confirms that result under those conditions. It does not prove a global chance, every eligible crystal type, or the current complete mutation list.
Choose sell or Plot value
Sell a mutated crystal when its cash clearly funds a more important blocker and the Plot has a suitable replacement. Place it when the live Plot contribution improves the account’s ongoing luck plan more than the immediate sale helps. Do not make the choice from the dated multipliers alone.
Poison requires extra caution because community sources claim value can increase while the crystal remains on the ground. Test the timer, pickup state, reset risk, and whether growth survives interruption before waiting with a valuable item exposed.
Handle Radioactive and event claims
Radioactive is community-reported as an Admin Nuke result rather than ordinary Bomb progression. The current official Roblox event page confirms a NEXT UPDATE event identity but does not publish Radioactive rewards or an Admin Abuse schedule. Do not promise the mutation, event time, or availability.
If the live game announces an administrator event, read the on-screen rules and protect existing inventory. Record the event name, start time, mutation label, and result. The Updates Hub handles dated event status without inventing a fixed schedule.
Avoid mutation mistakes
- Calling a Bomb mutation guaranteed from a community probability.
- Comparing a mutated sale value with an ordinary Plot value.
- Leaving a Poison candidate exposed through an hourly mountain change.
- Treating Radioactive as regularly farmable without a current event.
- Forgetting active Runes, luck products, or x2 Crystals when recording results.
- Using old multipliers as current official data.
Related decisions
Use Bombs to compare the cash cost and reported role of each elemental item. Use the Crystal List to record the base identity. Use Luck Plot before replacing a placement, and Weather when a visible event appears to affect mutation behavior.
Build a repeatable mutation record
Use one row per crystal instead of summarizing a whole blast from memory. Record the crystal name, visible mutation label, item weight, value before selling, Plot contribution before placement, Bomb name, server time, and any active Weather or Rune. If the original value is unavailable, leave that field blank; do not reverse-engineer it from an old multiplier. Screenshots of the live item card and sell preview make later comparisons much safer.
Repeat the same Bomb under the same known conditions before drawing a pattern. A miss is still useful evidence because it prevents a successful roll from looking guaranteed. If two results disagree, report the range and conditions instead of selecting the more exciting number. Recheck after an update, because Bomb behavior, mutation availability, and value tuning can change independently. This method helps decide whether another attempt is worth its cash cost without converting a dated community report into an unsupported live drop table.
